Mount Vernon --The Mount Vernon Community School District Alumni Association is pleased to announce the following alums have been selected as 2021 Alumni Hall of Fame winners:

    Achievement - Phoebe Ball 1991

    Fine Arts -  Jefferson White 2008

    Athletic - Shelby Kintzel 2009

    Service - Crystal Cardon Eskelsen 1993

    Community Impact - Gwen Stewart Drahos 1970

They received their awards during Homecoming weekend on Friday, Oct 8, 2021, along with the 2020 winners; Fine Arts recipient Braden Pospisil Rood ‘93, Athletic recipient Steve Andrew ’68 (d), Service recipient Scot Christiansen ’78, Community Impact recipient Sonia Essex Redmond ‘82, and Achievement recipient Peter Kollman ‘62 (d).  LINK TO 2020 RECIPIENT PAGE

Hall of Fame Events took take place on Friday, October 8. The public was invited to attend the Alumni Association Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony at 9:00 am in the Mount Vernon High School Performing Arts Center. Following the ceremony, a Public Reception was held in the lobby.

Friday evening, October 8 was the President’s Hall of Fame Reception, the Homecoming Game and presentation of Hall of Fame Award Winners during halftime at the Football Field, and the All-Alumni-Community Reception ‘Tailgating Under The Tent’ at the top of the bleachers.The Alumni-Community Reception tent was open from approximately 6 pm until after the game. 

In addition, student events include the Thursday evening Parade and Crowning of the Homecoming Queen and King and the Powderpuff Game, and their Saturday Homecoming Dance.
